About Misty Ridge
Misty Ridge is owned and operated by Cathie, Jeff and Kaylie Bruner in Evansburg, Alberta. We are a small operation that strives to produce quality, amateur friendly warmbloods and sport horses for the olympic disciplines of Dressage Jumping and Eventing, with a small selection for sale every year. We are committed to our clients. Here is a little information about our family!

This is the amazing stagecoach that Jeff built...Isn't it a beauty?
Our Ponderosa is a never ending work in progress! We are constantly upgrading and enhancing our horse habitat. We have 56 acres with a beautiful 5 stall barn and some pens. We love our horses to be out in the pastures with trees, a creek, logs, and hills to help them develop and grow as nature intended. We are out in the pastures a few times a day. We are lucky enough to have awesome neighbors, where we often keep our critters during the summer while the hay is growing.
Growing up in the Evansburg area, Cathie was an avid horse enthusiast from a young age. Her riding began on ponies from about age 3, and progressed into local shows and 4H; Then into raising quality quarter horses for numerous years. Cathie has always enjoyed playing with young horses, and giving them a solid foundation. Breeding has always been a passion for Cathie and she loves being able to live the dream.
Jeff grew up in the Evansburg area as well. His family always had all kinds of animals, including ponies, (sort of like old McDonald's Farm). His older brothers did Pony Chuckwagon Racing and Chariot Racing, with Jeff being the swamper, photographer, groomer, and more! Jeff enjoys driving horses, in fact, he built a beautiful stage coach which can be seen during the summer months at local parades. When people ask him why he undertook such a huge project, his answer was, “Well I always wanted to drive a stage coach, so I guess I needed to build it.” Jeff is the Mr. Fix It on the farm. Although, you won’t see him riding, you will see him fixing fences, harrowing, putting up hay, or any other job that needs completed. Jeff is our "GO TO GUY!"
Kaylie was raised around horses all of her life, she started out doing Showmanship and Halter with Cathie’s horses. Her first show was at three years old, doing Ride and Lead at the local fair. She progressed into Western Pleasure and Open Showing. She has competed at breed local showing, doing all events; Halter, Reining, Western Pleasure, Trail, Games and Hunter Hack. She was a 4H member for 9 years, winning many awards in public speaking, demonstrations, as well as competing with her horse, and dog. Also, she has been a pony club member for almost 15 years. She started 3 day eventing and loved it, but a back injury forced her into that soul searching decision and she transferred her passion to Dressage where she keeps progressing. She is also a follower of natural horsemanship. Kaylie has her Kinesiology degree and also is a graduate of BC College of Equine Therapy, as an equine sports therapist, with the top marks in her graduating class. She is a Level 1 Equine Body Worker through Equinology. Her true passion, however, and is seeing the results she is getting with Equine Craniosacral Therapy - She has her level 3, and is signed up for level 4 in the spring of 2017.
